On Saturday 23rd January, ITV1 will broadcast ‘The BRITs Hits 30’. This anniversary programme is unique in that it celebrates The BRIT Awards reaching its 30th year by viewing some memorable performances that the public can then vote on through internet.

The UK’s recorded music industry association, the BPI, announces today that Spice Girl Mel B will be hosting this ITV show that will turn back the clock with stunning performances from the likes of: Kylie, Scissor Sisters, The Bee Gees, Eurythmics, The Spice Girls, Bros, The Who, Coldplay, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Take That, Robbie Williams dueting with Tom Jones, The Pet Shop Boys, Girls Aloud and of course Michael Jackson.

The TV audience will then be asked to vote for their favourite performance by going to itv.com/brits or gm.tv up until February 5th when the voting window will close. The winner will then be invited to the BRITs on Tuesday 16th February at Earls Court, London to accept their award. “MOST MEMORABLE BRITs PERFORMANCE of 30 years”.

Former SPICE GIRLS star MELANIE BROWN is to host a new TV talent show to find the next big girl band.

Bosses at U.S. music channel VH1 are putting the show together and are lining up the Wannabe singer to help search for the stars of the future.

Brown, currently appearing in Las Vegas burlesque act Peepshow, says, “It’s going to be a real chance to find some edgy raw talents and watch it unfold as part of the show.”

And Brown has ruled out ever quitting her new career for another lucrative Spice Girls reunion: “It wasn’t about money for us – it was about going out on top where we finished.”

Mel B has insisted that there is no rivalry between her and Victoria Beckham.

Like Beckham, Mel has her own fashion range, though she has played down talk of competition with her fellow Spice Girl.

“The Spice Girls have never really been in direct competition with each other,” Metro quoted Mel as saying. “I’m doing my own stuff and Victoria’s fashion stuff is really well established but completely different.”

Mel added that moving to the US has helped revive her music career. She said: “I’ve been doing really well. I managed to get hold of Missy Elliot and Lil’ Kim and they are up for doing some stuff.”

Mel B’s new album Reimagined, her third solo record, is scheduled for release early next year.
