In a interview for Mirror.co.uk actor Richard E. Grant, 53, speaks about Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Madonna and other celebrities:
Madonna directed you in her 2008 turkey Filth And Wisdom. How was that?
I got on with her really well and she’s one of those people who draws a line in the sand and you’ve got to step up to the mark or she’ll annihilate you, so you’ve got to stand up for yourself. She is very clear about what she wants and takes no prisoners. Did I get a tongue-lashing from her? No, but I did from the critics. Lead balloon I think is the appropriate phrase. You also played the Spice Girls’ manager in Spiceworld. Were Geri Haliwell and Mel B as feisty as Madonna?
More so. Mel B is incredibly upfront. What you see is what you get. She’s right out there, I loved her.

Former reality show Girls Next Door star Holly Madison admits she can’t understand Mel B’s British accent.
Madison, 30, got to know the ex-Spice Girls singer when they both appeared in Peepshow and she said Mel’s heavy Leeds accent is hard to interpret.
She told Britain’s Closer magazine: “I’ve got to know Mel B more recently because we’ve both appeared in a burlesque production called Peepshow in Vegas.
Mel’s hilarious and very over the top. I love listening to her English accent – it’s hard to understand what she’s saying sometimes! She’s a great dancer and she’s got lots of moves up her sleeve.
She’s left the show now and I’m still performing, but we’re still in touch”.
X Factor judge Louis Walsh says Mel B would make an ideal replacement for his pregnant fellow judge on the show Dannii Minogue.
Speaking in an interview with Star Magazine, the boyband manager backs Scary Spice to be a hit on the TV talent show’s panel.
“I would love her to join The X Factor. I don’t know if it’s confirmed. She’s gobby and would be able to put Simon and Cheryl in their places. I’ll gang up with her against them.”
He told The Sunday Mirror:
“Mel B would be perfect, a gorgeous, feisty woman from a successful girl band. That’s gonna put Cheryl’s nose out of joint and she’ll keep Simon in check”.
The full interview is in New! Magazine, out now.
