Very good news for you, if you aren’t an English speaker!

Now you can read all of our Mel B news in your own language, thanks to our new Translator.

Just choose your country’s flag on our “welcome” box, if you’re on the index. Search for the flags in the sidebar if you’re on posts and pages.

We’ve selected SIX languages. Besides our old and good English, now you can read us in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and even in Japanese.

Dot New (temporary) layout at Always Melanie B

It was time to change these promotional photos from “Mel B: It’s a Scary World”, since the show’s first season is over. And since there was a long time that we had a dark layout, I thought it was the perfect opportunity.

As this post title, it’s a temporary version. The next layout will be totally new, and have a major overhaul of the site. New sections, content, whatever… But everything for the next version.

In this version we have some new features:

AFFILIATES and MENU in flash: for easier navigation and shorten the route to certain pages we have this menu, more interactive and intuitive. Just click on the sections and sub-sections appears below… And ALL affiliates are on EVERY single page of the site.

TWEETS: in a single box the newest tweet, either from our website or from our diva herself – Mel B!

SHARE AND ENJOY: in every post and page we have a new plugin to share contents on major social media (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Orkut) or via e-mail.

MOBILE VERSION: thanks to a plugin called WPtouch our site has a version for mobile phone browsing. A cleaner and lighter version, made for faster loading pages and lower data traffic (and costs) for those who visits our site via mobile devices.

Below some print screens of the site viewed on an iPhone. This layout also works for Android, BlackBerry and IOS (iPhone, iPod and iPad) users.

Dot Always Melanie B: 5 years on line!

Half a decade!

Seriously, when I created the site I never thought it’d get to this time of existence! I think everyone knows (who don’t know, go to Online > Always section and read everything) that create the website was the last idea in the Always Melanie B: before I came with mailing list, orkut, fotolog. And the site was created at a time that Melanie wasn’t very active. She just released her second solo album, which wasn’t very successful, and was faint from public eye.

Soon I thought: how to maintain the site if Mel does not create any headlines? Will I have to close it?

And things have changed so much for me, since 2005. Two years later I started working. More two years and I went to College, and my free time to update the site diminishes more day by day. The question came again: isn’t appropriate to close the site?

Every time this question came up, I answered “NO!”. The site will remain online, and we’ll see what happens. And I don’t regret, because everything went very well! In this meantime, Melanie made movies, tv shows, theater, new music and even the Spice Girls’ return! I’d miss the chance to follow all this if I’d closed the site.

But enough nostalgia! I, as always, thank everyone who joined us at all this time online! To all visitors, friends and Mel B/Spice Girls fans and, to our affiliate sites … And, as I always say, so many years are yet to come!

I’m very excited about the coming years. I finish college now (that’s why our lack of updates lately), I have some great ideas, I’ll have more time to put into practice from January. Stay tuned, and again, thanks for your company in these five years!
