MEL B TO CO-HOST DANCING WITH THE STARS: Mel B was on the set of her new gig as host of Oxygen’s “Dance Your Ass Off” on Wednesday afternoon, but during a set visit, she confirmed to AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman that she did a screen test for the vacant “Dancing with the Stars” hosting gig.

Mel confirmed the news when Laura showed the former “DWTS” finalist (she competed during Season 5 with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy), a paparazzi pic of the beautiful brunette with a “DWTS” script in her hand.

“I was going to ‘Dancing with the Stars’,” Mel laughed, examining the photo. “I didn’t even know they took that”, Mel marveled, before noting her sexy stride in the snap. “I’m strutting!”

As for the screen test, Mel wouldn’t reveal whether she was testing to become a full-time co-host with Tom Bergeron, or become one of several rotating guest co-hosts, which has been rumored following Samatha Harris’ departure. She did, however, admit she had a blast.

“I had fun with it”, Mel told Laura. “I was [screen testing] with Tom. It was good”.

When asked if she can do both “DWTS” and the Oxygen weight-loss inspired dancing competition, Mel said it wouldn’t be a problem.

“The more the merrier”, she smiled. “I like to do everything”.

As for Season 2 of “DYAO”, which returns to Oxygen this summer, Mel said the contestants are super sweet. “They’re really nice”, she told Laura. “You’re gonna fall in love with them”.

THIRD SOLO ALBUM: Mel B has decided to record her solo tracks. The singer revealed she is writing her own lyrics too.

“I was in the studio last week – I’ve only done a handful of tracks,” The News of the World quoted her as saying.

She added: “I’m waiting to find a sound that I’m happy with but I’m writing all my own stuff. I’ve got a lot going on this year but I’m making time to be in the studio. I was in there till five in the morning. I always find at night, when you’ve put the kids to bed, you can get into your zone. To do an album takes time and energy. You can’t have distractions going on”.

MEL B’S HUSBAND ATTACKS REAL ESTATE AGENT: Stephen Belafonte allegedly attacked a real estate agent who he had hired to take photos of their home because the couple mistook him for a paparazzo.

The former Spice Girls singer and her husband Stephen Belafonta were walking their dog outside their Southern California home when Mel spotted Amado Aguirre photographing their house. Thinking he was a paparazzo, she alerted Stephen and one of her employees, who are accused of attacking the man while trying to take his camera from him.

Amado is now suing Mel and Stephen, claiming he was seriously injured during the confrontation. He claims he was hired by Mel to appraise the house as it was for sale. He says she had asked the real estate firm he works for to valuate her home so they could find her other properties of a similar value. To help with this, Amado was asked to visit the house and take photographs of its features and that is what he was doing on the day the confrontation occurred. He claims he did not know a celebrity lived in the property.

Mel’s representatives have not commented on the incident.
